$20K Stolen At the Hilton Chicago

2008_2_25.hilton.jpgEight people were bound and robbed at gunpoint Sunday night at the Hilton Chicago at 720 S Michigan. The assailants got away with about $20,000.

The victims were the organizers of a modeling search, and they were duct-taped during the robbery while the two men, one of whom was armed, stole the cash. After the robbers fled, the victims freed themselves and contacted the police.

The event was a Harvey Star Washington modeling search, where the entrants all paid a $50 registration fee. The robbers are still at large, and police still haven't released a description, but they're going through hotel security camera footage. [Trib, S-T, CBS]

Was this a legit modeling search or were the real people robbed and ripped off really the 400 people who paid $50 to participate?

interesting question Joe-LG!

Dats der is what the Bunny's talking about especially during this recession-possible depression!

$50 to register for a model search sounds like scam artist being robbed
