Something I'm not thrilled with, and nobody else seems willing to say anything about: Following that record's release, he beat a murder rap and has been in trouble with the law more times then we can count. Yet, recently, Snoop's image has, dare we say, softened? ... We were skeptical, going in, if Snoop could still lay down a decent set. Mr.Glimmer almost seems disappointed that Snoop Dog isn't out shooting somebody, as far as we know. I'm not sure that I like seeing a glorication of criminal behavior or of a lifestyle centered around violence, or even a hint of such. Oh, and before somebody pipes in with the usual kneejerk response of "if you don't like it, don't read it", I'm not disputing Marcus' right to write what he wishes. I merely question the merit of some of what he has to say.

Still love Snoop, and I don't even like hip-hop very much. It's that voice. Very inviting and relaxing, even when he's talking about firing guns at people while high. Now I'm getting very sentimental. It was the end of Senior year, and "The Chronic" just came out. Soundtrack to the summer of 1992. @Spook Thanks for the laugh. I think if I hear another white boy (or white girl)use the word DROP when referring to the release of a new album or some slut star having a baby i'm gonna strangle my preacher!!! Did they have the extra strength metal detectors up that night? I can see that this column was directed at 16 year old black girls or white suburban kids the only ones that are buying that crap.

Hey, I've got a soft spot in my heart for Snoop Dog too! I mean who didn’t like The Chronic. But more importantly, Snoop almost single handedly used his fame and wealth to re popularized the exploitation of vulnerable (mostly black) women in the form of "Pimping", which of course aint easy. Seriously, I'm glade you pick Black History Month to check out and review his show, because it coincides with my grassroots movement to reduce African-American History Month to a one hour prime time BET special celebration hosted by Shaun Puffy Combs, Tiger Woods, Mike Jordan and 50 cents and Bobby Brown, sponsored by Glock, "manufacturing the finest of hand guns since 1963"!
