So here we were, doing a little poking around some Chicago radio websites on a Saturday afternoon. One link leads to another, and all of a sudden we're on Chicago Tonight correspondent Rich Samuel's site, which we've discovered is a treasure trove of old Chicago media pictures, airchecks and video.
And lo and behold, after all the chatter this week about Sam Zell selling just about everything relating to Wrigley Field, there's a Sam Zell section with an old Chicago Tonight feature going back to 1995 when the Chicago gazillionaire tried to purchase Rockefeller Center. While the mid-nineties may not seem like that much of a flashback, but the piece goes back to Zell's earlier days - for example, check the Zell-icious high school photograph, circa 1959.
Dust off that RealPlayer, kids: the .ram file comes to you from right here.

Humanize the guy all you like, he's still a world class prick.
The New Yorker has a pretty interesting profile of him from November.
