I'm a pilot and I just want to make sure everybody knows: Very, very, very few of us are as idiotic as this guy. They just make us look bad. Interesting note: Had dude simply talked to the golf course people and received permission, it would've been entirely legal... It doesn't appear to me that there are any significant safety issues associated with landing there. But regardless, this is one of those things that, for the rest of us, is entirely face palm-inducing. And rest assured, the pilot discussion forums are duly lighting this guy up.

I thought the guy was an idiot when I read the headline, don't think this was such a big deal. The guy had skis on the plane for landing gear, the course was snowed over (do they play winter golf up there?), and that plane weighs less than a car, let alone the maintenance trucks that run up and down golf courses. But then again, it's always been my dream to have a pilot's license and my own plane, flying wherever and whenever I want.

Planes are the only like, vehicle you can buy that appreciate in value. Not a bad investment.
