A two-month old Pomeranian pup weighing less than two pounds was stolen yesterday from a Naperville Petland store. The pup, which has an identifying microchip imbedded in between his shoulders, has set off the equivalent of an “Amber Alert“ for pets. HelpMeFindMyPet.com has sent a message to veterinarians, pet stores, and other animal-related businesses within a 50-mile radius.
An 18- to 22-year-old white male, about 5’8” tall, came into the store and asked to see the dog. He was playing with the puppy and requested more information. When the store worker stepped away, the man swiped the dog and ran.
The dog is valued at $1,500, and because of his size and age, needs to be cared for like a newborn baby, or his health could fail rapidly. Anyone with information should call (866) 699-3463 or email info@helpmefindmypet.com. [S-T, WBBM]

Stroger Makes Hollywood Play

Sorry to say, I don't think the poor Pom is going to have to worry about its health failing rapidly, as a dog this size was most likely stolen only to be a "bag dog" at a pit bull fight.
