i obviously can't spell ... nor do i have good grammar skillz this morning.

google maps is the best...

While I have little sympathy to offer for an exposed drug peddlar, if that's what this really was about, I have more than a few misgivings about the whole "Google Earth" concept.

Let's say that a woman trying to escape her stalker of an ex-boyfriend is taking her garbage out when that van drops by, her image gets on the site, and the boyfriend finds it. "Far Fetched?", you ask. Maybe now, but pattern recognition is widely known to be a very active field of research, and one day, who knows how long from now, the software might exist for face recognition by computer, raising the question of whether one could do a sort of search through that mass of images, looking for a lookalike for somebody one has a picture of.

How comfortable should we be with the possibility of a near future in which everybody can find anybody?
