Pillow Fight!

Judging by these photos, World Pillow Fight Day was a raging success.

Man, these pictures are terrific. I know people will start poking fun at the hipsters (blah blah), but there's something really cool about all those feathers flying!

Was anybody from Chicagoist there? Was it fun?

It was the most fun I've had in a long time.

If you see an orange pillow, that's me (or my girlfriend)

Pillow fights...meh.

But one thing I love about Chicago is someone's always got a Chicago flag. Damn, we've got a sweet flag.

That was a lot more fun than I had anticipated! I know my son, Kieran, had a blast. He is already planning his costume and pillow design for the next one.
Usually the first comment I get when people see my pics is "where do you find this stuff????"
There is some really cool stuff do do around Chicagoland if you look around a little and Pillow Fight Day was a perfect example of that!

I was there too and it was awesome! Good, genuine fun. No bickering, no actual fighting. Everything you could want in a Saturday-afternoon diversion.

Thank you World Pillow Fight people!

I wanted to go to this badly. Looks awesome.

We went to spectate. I'll have photos up tonight. It was the most amazing thing I've seen! We walked around the rest of the day covered in pillow dust. Thanks to the fellow fighters that involved us (even though we didn't have pillows). Getting in the trenches was a lot of fun!

PS: To the parents. . there were a few young brother/sister fighters that really seemed to get their aggretion out for the day. I thought it was a fantastic idea. . .get the kids to get their angst and energy out in a harmless pillow fight. . then take them to the art museum for a couple of hours when they could be quiet and collected post pillow fight exhaustion. BRILLIANT Parenting! I bet you didn't have to threaten to turn the car around or remove desert at all that day!

What a fun afternoon! It was great how courteous the pillow fighters were towards those of us with cameras (not a single person hit me from the front), and it was also awesome seeing so many people stick around to help clean up the feathers.

Thanks to the Chicagoist, you beautiful photographers, and the pillow fighters for having quite a time. People came from the suburbs, from ImprovEverywhere, from North Carolina! Seems we made a bit of a scene.

Didn't hurt that the Hopper was opening at the Art Institute, huh? Who would've thought!

Double or nothing next year, friends!
