The water volume of snow is so low, I doubt it has much effect at all. Each giant snowstorm is barely more water than a normal thunderstorm.

Next year I am so going on that cruise with my cousin in February, I haven't left the northern Midwest all winter (and the one time I did leave Chicago, it was to go to Minnesota). One can only take so much. Ugh
