Funny what people notice. The story that caught my eye in all of this was the last one

"Here's the new twist. A judge has ordered the Illinois Department of Corrections to preserve any boxes it has that belonged to a deceased inmate named Andrew Wilson.

They many include Wilson's sworn statement implicating himself in the murder, and stating Logan didn't do it. Harold Winston is Logan's attorney. He says he's counting on the Illinois Attorney General's office to get to the bottom of Logan's case.

WINSTON: It is my hope that as this evidence continues to accumulate, they will agree with me that Alton Logan's conviction was wrongful, and actions should be taken as soon as possible to get him out of prison.

The court first learned last week that the statement might exist.

In the past few months, three attorneys have testified that they've had information since 1982 that Wilson—not Logan—committed the murder."

I think the "Don't fly American Airlines" news lines are bogus and irresponsible. Many other airlines were effected by the same inspections had to cancel a bunch of flights, See: Southwest and Delta. . which are mentioned in the article you linked to. Why's AA getting all of the flack?

If anything, be happy that they would rather go through with the inspections to ensure your upmost safety on the flight.

Yeah, I thought the advice was safe and maybe lame, but not bad.

but one thing they said is very true and useful:"I always put in that I want a five-star hotel near Michigan Avenue for $75 a night, and it always comes out as the Hyatt Regency," she says. The Hyatt Regency Chicago (normally about $179/night and up) is centrally located and good for walking on Michigan Avenue.

stayed at the hyatt after July 3rd fireworks for 3 years, rather than heding back to the blue line and the NW side with a few million others. best hotel bargain downtown, if you gotta stay downtown.

I was waiting for the ridiculously laughable, never going to work, dumb tourist advice paragraph of that article. Instead I read an entire article on where tourists with little kids should do and go to in Chicago without one ounce of supposed "misguided" advice.

Worst descriptor of a linked to article in Chicagoist this year award.

I think it was weird that for the time of year question, they wrote that it would be too hot in the summer for a baby in a stroller. Probably true, but no mention of the ridiculous winters? Really?

Seemed alright to me too. The advice was a little...limiting?...but we are talking about tourists with children here. Tourists with kids aren't going to patronize the really good, but really sketch hole-in-the-wall restaurant out in Hermosa or some such shit.

I think it wasn't edgy enough for Chuck.
He probably want the kids taken to Wicker Park or Boystown!
And I see open strollers on the bus or L all the time. If they're polite, they put it in the wheelchair position.

what's the misguided advice to travelers? it seems pretty practical to me .... if you're going to bring kids, stay with friends. don't go to fancy "white tablecloth" restaurants (thank goodness). check out museums. you might not be able to take a taxi, but you can take a stroller on the el. navy pier and millenium park are kid favorites.

?? did i read the wrong article?
