@Bronto: Goats. They roamed free, ate trash, and kept the lawns short in the neighborhood. This was back when North/Damen/Milwaukee was the "Polish Downtown" and you could go from Western to Ashland along Milwaukee and never hear English spoken once.

i assumed wicker park was named after wicker furniture too since i read that bucktown was named for all the goats that were in the area...i'm waiting to be proven wrong about this...and i don't care what anybody says, encyclopedia brittanica aint got shiz on wikipedia
