The Taste of Wonder

Stevie WonderOur summer to-do list just got better: Get a tan. Ride our new bike. Listen to a live performance of “Part Time Lover” while eating 10-ticket pizza with 3 million people! Stevie Wonder is set to return to the Taste of Chicago on June 28, twenty long years after the last time he played our little local tourist trap festival of food.

As always, the Taste of Chicago will take place from June 27 to July 6 Grant Park and as always we will be sweating/eating our way through the festival checking out the other acts set to perform including: Chaka Kahn, Plain White T’s, Broadway in Chicago, Joss Stone, and American Idol winner, Fantasia. Until then, we’ll just enjoy this awesome hailstorm.

I'm tight, joe, I'm tight!

I just can't do it
I love Steve and all, but I can't do "Taste of Chicago", I'm sorry!

All I remember from last years Taste was trip after trip to CVS for 6 packs to sneak in and then passing out in the grass before John Mayer came on.

fuck yes! i can!

look, i realize that the man got all wrapped up into a bunch of garbage - american idol, crap duets, you name it. but you can't front on stevie fucking wonder. you just can't. the man is a badass for life. honestly. i mean, "innervisions"? he could write toothpaste jingles for the rest of his career, and he'd still be the king shit of badass mountain. period.

if i can survive 110 degree heat and a bunch of obnoxious, ironically dressed 13-year olds to see radiohead @ lolla, i certainly can brave the teva sandal and jimmy buffet t-shirt wearing set to rage out to master blaster.

son of a bitch! I just bought tickets to Summerfest!

anybody else stoked for fantasia's comeback appearance?...i'll be by the porta-pottys, jamming and enjoying my salmonella flavored hummus

wow. this might make me go to taste of chicago. brutally awesome.

That is HUGE. I almost bought Summerfest tickets, too.

is he coming to summerfest? won't you have assigned seats then? that sounds much better than trying to brave taste of chicago. MUCH.

No, but Milwaukee and Chicago switch that week. You want to find a Chicago resident the week of the Taste? They're all in Milwaukee at Summerfest.

Ahhhh the Taste of Chicago, where black gang bangers from Ford Heights and fat white chicks from Indiana- and places like Wheeling -meet! And there, passed out drunk on the lawn,is Spav1 surrounded by her Lincoln Park All American girl
posse.

Ahhhhhhh a lovely day

I may tough it out to the taste just to see Stevie. Already missed the Black Crowes last year and hate myself for it. What would really be good is for Stevie to hit the road proper once again like last year. C'mon Stevie!

And Gwar gets passed up yet again.

When are people going to learn? Nothing compliments paying seven bucks for "samples" quite like the musical stylings of a bunch of guys in masks and shoulder pads hosing the audience down with blood while the sing their latest chart topper: "Blood Bath and Beyond".
