Rodents Run Roughshod in Greektown

The city Health department shut down another restaurant yesterday. This time, they got a biggie: Greek Islands in Greektown. After receiving a 311 call from a customer who said his family of five were struck ill after dining there, the city inspected and found mouse feces and live fruit flies in a basement food-storage area.

The restaurant also was cited for unsafe storage of food (there was a container of raw chicken over a container of potato salad), and hand washing sinks that were obstructed and lacking in soap and hand towels. Needless to say, if you have reservations to Greek Islands this evening, call in advance to see if they've corrected these discrepancies.
