And here I thought Chicagoist was about empowering all citizens to get actively engaged civically by any means necessary. Cleary Sudo has developed a certain “pay to play” mentality now that he has romantic designs on a certain Alderman’s daughter who has promised him a summer job with Streets and Sanitation that could lead to full time work. Yea I see you!

Matty feel free to ride your recycled, third hand
BMX bike rebuilt from scratch at the Blackstone Bike Cooperative right along. It’s your drive too, you have every right not be excluded based on income.

And when Matty speeds by you with his 800 dollar spandex get-up and his 8000 dollar Lance Armstrong endorsed racing bike, pay him no attention. Money cannot by love.

And it’s bigger than T shirt it’s about a principle. a high brow national society of the elite who have been recognized as Commentators of the Month

So again I ask…..

“Where it at yo?”
“Where it at shortie?”

I think the only thing matty does is sit in front of his computer and troll. Like you, spook (btw, buy your own Chicagoist t-shirt).

I'd advise you all to look at the value of the gold package instead of bemoaning the cost. A stretch, I know, given some of the folks here. The registration fee for each individual ride is $40 (assuming you aren't a CBF member). Then there's the individual membership to the CBF (a $30 value). Add that up, and you're getting a $110 value for $75. Mary Sunshine already linked to where the proceeds go, and they have substantial corporate sponsorship.

So, in the space most of you whined about saving a whole three dollars, you could have registered.

A discount of $3? 3 whole dollars?! Who thinks that's a discount?! just 3, not 10 or 15?! 3 bucks won't cover the surcharges and taxes for picking up a pen and signing your name on the registration form in this city.

Why the hell should I have to pay anything to ride a bike on LSD for a few hours?
What are they gonna do if I get on there where there's no fence between the park & the Drive?
Shoot me?

The basic package is 37 bucks. Still kind of steep if you ask me. I understand there's a cost to shutting down the drive to auto traffic (manning the on-ramps and such) but you're telling me they can't get enough private sponsorship for this event to cover the costs? Especially with Daley's professed love of cycling, you'd think companies would be leaping at the chance to sponsor this.

75 bucks is steep! Any waivers for, I dunno, citizens who don't have that kind of money?
