An inmate escaped custody at Stroger Hospital this morning, so if you see a dude running around wearing both a Department of Corrections jumpsuit and a cast...call the police.
Kirk Davis, 27, has been in Cook County jail since March 13 on aggravated battery charges and was being treated at the hospital for a leg injury.
From CBS 2:
He walked through the revolving door of the hospital with one officer behind him, and upon getting inside, he hit the officer on the head with one of his crutches.... When the officer fell, the inmate ran back out the front door....Witnesses said...even though he still had one of his crutches in his hand and was wearing a leg cast, he ran as if nothing was wrong with him.
The man then ran through a couple of buildings and right into a waiting van, which took off, witnesses said. It was described as being either white or blue.
Davis is presumed dangerous. [WQAD, CBS 2, NBC 5, image via the hospital]

white or blue van ... thanks, you've been very helpful.
He may be carrying as many as one or as few as zero crutches with him.
I think he probably escaped in an Ambulance. This is not unlike "The Fugitive".
Who was the officer assigned to this handicapped con...Barney Fife?
And yet somehow, I blame Todd Stroger for this...
Kaiser Soze?
Will they pay for the officer to get treated this time?

Maybe the officer should have asked him to get off the phone as he coordinated with his getaway van.
Was the Benny Hill music playing while this daring escape was taking place?
