Fashion Fever

Is it just us, or has Chicago been hit with the fashion stick lately? Fashion events seem to keep popping up, and this week is no exception.

This Thursday the Illinois Institute of Art - Chicago is holding its annual FAME (Fashion and Media Extravaganza) event at the Harris Theater, and while it showcases student artwork from all disciplines, apparently the fashion show is always the sold-out star. The event’s featured guests, both fashionistas, are Heather Kuzmich of America’s Next Top Model and Kristin Rosynek Hassan, who will debut her new line of eco-friendly clothing, proving yet again that green just may be the new black.

And if you’re feeling extra fashion frisky, you may also want to check out designer Zac Posen at Saks Fifth Avenue. He’ll be making a personal appearance on Thursday and showcasing his Fall 2008 collection via trunk show on both Thursday and Friday. Man, this is becoming an expensive pastime.
