The Original Britpopper

We love love love Blur, but c'mon admit it, without Ray Davies, Damon Albarn would have no career. Local rock critics gone global (O.K., maybe just national (syndicated)) Jim De Rogatis and Greg Kot talk to Davies on their Sound Opinions radio talk show tonight at 8 p.m. on Chicago Public Radio. We got an advance listen to the show, and think DeRo and Kot actually extract a pretty good interview out of the guy focusing on both his current album and his classic output. If you miss tonight's airing, check the website for other air times, or just subscribe to their podcast feed.

i'd still much rather listen to damon albarn's sultry voice than ray davies'.

you're clueless shannon. ray davies is a god. far better songwriter/singer than exists today. damon albarn is a nobody now, much less 30 years from now

i didn't say anything about his songwriting or even his music (which i love, too). i only mentioned his voice.
