Yes, Margaret. Now get back to work!
Wow great photo-- mystery solved!

Awesome! I was just watching the video of that story just before I read your comment...
Maybe Chicagoist should start a weekly "caption" contest for some of their more interesting photos?
Or Pinko:
Maybe Chicagoist will sit passively by and not take any suggestions EVER from the commentors.
Notice how Margaret DIDN'T post the "Commentor of the Month"? Ensuing shitstorm. This site stifles commentor participation by continually having the writers comment in the threads in a defensive tone, by Queen Margaret descending from her mountain-top to tell us all to "behave", by prematurely closing threads, et al, such as.
I mean, don't hold your breath.
Also: THEY TALK ABOUT US. Do you think they don't?
Even worse Spav1, they talk with us, about YOU!
@JAH "Even worse Spav1, they talk with us, about YOU!
True dat! I sharted a little when I read your comment! That shit's funny! "Yay" for exclamation points!
Damn, my boss is standing right behind me....
Rachelle posted CotM last month, too.
Spav, clearly you need to find a new blog.
Mary Sunshine:
Why?
I am totally trying to make it better. That is how invested I am. I am NEVER leaving.
Seriously, how trite are you? It is irritating.
Spav:
I've seen very few comments where you actually post anything that could be considered constructive criticism of the blog, mainly just bitching for the sake of bitching. I'm just saying if it's that bad, just walk away. We'll miss you but I promise we'll survive.
And trite? Is that seriously the word you'd pick? You can do better than that.
Besides my bitching at Margaret, which I admit may get tedious, my other comments have (had) gone far up in thoughtfulness. That has all ended now that I can see it will never get me anywhere and I will continue to be called a "bitch" by the writers of this site.
Shame on all of you.
Oh, it's definitely tedious.
Margaret:
While half of the comments I make are hyperbolic, they would definitely lessen if you chose to address any of them in a way that was not by fiat or dictatory (not a word but apropos).
If you are going to shut down threads, why not link to a post that has some guidelines for commenting.
I think that you fail to realize that it is the same 35-50 commentors that are really investing in this site, that comment daily, multiple times, resulting in longer time spent on the site and more pageviews and then you react in such a way that is mean-spirited.
It is like, you're the adult, I'm the child, same principle. You owe it to me and to all the commentors to guide us with thoughtful suggestions and commentary, to explain when there is a change made and to not be utterly condescending in every endeavour you may undertake.
Yuck.
"While half of the comments I make are hyperbolic...."
Someone's been reading their dictionary.
And, hyperbolic is not how I would describe half of said comments...more like, uh, um, errr, inane, hebetudinous and vitriolic.
I-can-has-multisyllabic-words, too!
@frp:
"hyperbolic" is one of my go to "I am better than you words"
some others include, "garrish", "substantially", "obsequious" and "zero-sum"
Why so harsh today dude?
