I just found out at an Earth Day event that Cottonelle and Kleenex brands have no recycled content. They are made from ancient forests. I don't know about you, but making throw-away tissues from ancient forests seems like a really stupid idea. I'm going to avoid Cottonelle both for their childish potty-humor and for its screwed up environmental record.

I've seen more than one parent clam up while trying to explain this sign to their child. One child didn't recognize "da" as written-vernacular, and concluded that the sign was in Spanish... and her father vigorously agreed.

Since we are speaking of stupid ads, there are two on the el right now: 1 - for some OTB that reads "odds are you are reading this ad because you left your ipod at home: 1 in 5" That doesn't make sense. People can listen to music and read at the same time. They should have said "left your book at home." 2- is for gizmodo health where a woman is holding a giant lollipop in one hand and a lemon in the other. The caption reads something like "making smart healthy choices is difficult." If your options on eating healthy are a sucker or a lemon then you are an idiot. She should be holding an apple and an oramge: two healthy things.
