I am not a fan of any of their beers. Plus, I LOATHE the packaging. and the name... Their beer names and labels are terrible. The beer is decent, ok, it's slightly better than decent, but there are way too many GREAT beers out right now. But seeing it is available at Dixie Kitchen, there is reason to drink one and get that whole experience!

Purple Haze is very good, but Abita puts out a limited run seasonal Strawberry beer that is the best beer I've ever tasted. You'll probably have to order it from a liquor store cause they'll be out.

once upon a time, a love affair with abita's sweet nectar (also know as purple haze) started on july 4th of 200? and keeps going on strong....great on a breezy summer afternoon... now i am forced to leave work early and enjoy...thanks!

Someone I knew from college used to drink this. He also had his eyebrows waxed and wore pleated pants to every class. We made merciless fun of him. I've never been man enough to try it myself.

This certainly fits in with the food theme of the day. I always thought Abita, while solid, was vastly overrated, but it's a good beer when you are in New Orleans and want the whole experience, I guess. Goes great with crawfish.
