Todd Stroger to Skip Palatine Meeting After All
Citing "political grandstanding by village council members," Todd Stroger announced yesterday that he would not be attending a meeting tonight in Palatine, arranged by Mayor Rita Mullins, to discuss county services. It was also expected to touch on secession, a highly charged issue in the Chicago suburb.

The event, which was originally scheduled to be a Community Meeting became a Special Village Board Meeting, and then a Special Village Board Committee Meeting. In a statement, Stroger said "I want to speak to the residents of Cook County face-to-face.... That is the very reason why I planned to travel to Palatine, however; I will not debate local Palatine elected officials who expect to exploit this opportunity to further their own political agendas." Stroger says that he still plans to meet with residents to discuss provision of county services, but he hasn't specified a date yet.

I for one am completely surprised.
Looking at this more objectively than I usually do, I find myself impressed that a single man--Stroger--can be so shameless and cowardly. He sets new standards, even for Cook County.
Go Palatine! I mean, sucession will never happen--far too many obstacles in the way--but it sure is an understandable thought.
Stroger should looks at that aerial photo and see JOBS for cronies and TAX DOLLARS for him to spend.
He can hire one his cousins to trim that tree next to the lake.
He can hire a bunch of precinct captains to run a neighborhood pond water safety class. Of course, it won't matter if they can swim or not.
Then he can hire some big donors to do the street-cleaning. After all, Palatine has some roads that are county-maintained.
I am Jack's complete lack of surprise.

Even if he thought he were going to ambushed rhetorically (Though with small arms fire would be better...), how can he possibly justify this? All it boils down to is that he knows damn well that he can't counter Palatine residents complaints with useful things like surveys, statistics or even a logical argument. Though I didn't vote for Stroger, it's moments like this that make me ashamed to be a Chicagoan.
I thought it went more like this....
Stroger said "I want to speak to the residents of Cook County face-to-face.... but not if they're going to ask questions or potentially criticize my idiocracy. Todd Stroger does not have to defend Todd Stroger. It's hard enough just BEING Todd Stroger without having to defend being Todd Stroger. Besides, Todd Stroger already declared Todd Stroger as Emperor and Lord & Master, and there will soon be a memorandum stating as much written by one of my lesser-qualified but highly compensated friends and/or family members in invisible ink so as to prevent any possible criticism of me, Todd Stroger. Todd Stroger has spoken. Word of the Toddler, and also with you. I'm rubber, you're glue..."

speak for yourself Toddler. Furthering your own political agenda is what you do best when you're not robbing the people of this county blind. Fucktard.
Stroger cannot and will not explain his use of tax dollars and how dare the citizens of palatine think he should.
The toddler just told the village of palatine to shut up and go get your shinebox Bitcheees.
