This raises the question: For the love of God, couldn't you just clean the thing and save $300K? Except that according to a previous Trib article: Concordia Realty Management, which manages the mall where the Spindle now stands, has estimated the cost to refurbish the Spindle at $300,000.

I know some people have a really strong attachment to this thing, but with 300K you could support dozens of school art programs, fund after school programs and support local arts and culture in general. Or pile a bunch of rushing cars in a heap on a stick.
