My mom and I were just talking about this place. She's extremely bummed that it closed. When my mom was little, my grandparents used to go there and they would always order a Menehune drink. It came with a little Menehune Man (figurine) in the drink. When they got home for the evening, they would always give her the figurine.

Menehune are believed to be Hawaiians of dwarf size who live in the valleys of Hawaii (a myth). A few years ago, I had a Menehune drink of my own and I still have the figurine. By chance is that recipe in there too?

frp - Funny you should mention that, as I have the Bob Chinn's Mai Tai recipe :-)

Keep your eyes peeled, i'll post it sometime in the coming weeks.

That ought to be easier than smuggling Zombie glassware from Cyril's House of Tiki in Hyde Park when they closed down.

This is awesome! Trader Vic's Planter's Punch!?!?!? I remember having one of those waaay back in the day, during a lunch part of an interview. It was ordered for me. I was 21 and fresh out of college. After 3 of them, I was drunk. Then I was offered the job.

In retrospect, I should've taken the job with the company that got me liquored up on Planter's Punch.

Memories....

Now, can anyone get their hands on the recipe for Bob Chinn's Mai Tai?
