For the second time this season, White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd flirted with a no-hitter, with last night's 7-1 victory breaking a 6-game losing streak.
In the first game of a series against the Minnesota Twins, Floyd held the opposition hitless until the ninth inning before Joe Mauer doubled with one out in the inning. After letting up the hit, manager Ozzie Guillen pulled Floyd, who left field at the Cell to a standing ovation.
Floyd previously came close to a no-hitter against the Tigers on April 12, before giving up his first hit in the eighth inning.
Now 3-1 with a 2.50 ERA, Floyd is proving he has figured out how to pitch at the major league level. Maybe Kenny Williams was right when he shipped Freddy Garcia to the Phillies for this kid.

Its only a matter of time before this kid gets a no hitter. The sox pitching has been very good they just need the bats to wke up. Unfortunatley, I think the sox have stuck with some players who are getting a little old and are on the downside of their carrers, but the pitching will keep them around for a while.
