Wrigley Field Seating Guide

2008_05_sports_wrigley_seat.jpgOh, the ambiance of the Friendly Confines ... the ivy, the manual scoreboard, the giant columns blocking half the field for some seats. Well, that last one kind of sucks, actually.

Like many ballparks built in the days before architects learned to cantilever the upper decks, Wrigley Field's lower level is rife with giant I-beams that can obstruct the view of the field. And who wants to get stuck behind on of those? Sure, there are plenty of Cubs "fans" who could care less about what actually takes place on the field, but for those of us who want to actually see the game -- including little details like what the infielders and pitcher are doing? What can we do to avoid these seats?

Local blogger Matt Motyka has compiled a guide to Wrigley Field's seating, which outlines in great detail the views and ambiance of each section of the ballpark, as well as the placement and obstruction of all the park's columns. His handy guide will help you to avoid getting those dreaded "limited view" seats or even seats where they're a lesser nuisance. Because remember that if you can't see much of the field, the beer vendors probably can't see you either.
