Bond & Body Snatchers at the Music Box

A smorgasboard of cult faves at the Music Box will help to chase away the rainy weekend. The theater is simultaneously running two mini-marathons: The Sci-Fi Spectacular and the James Bond Festival.

2008_5scifibond.jpg The former includes classics like the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Earth vs. Flying Saucers as well as newer movies like Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan, Robocop and The Road Warrior. Queen of Cult Mary Woronov (a star of one of our childhood faves Night of the Comet) will appear in person to discuss Death Race 2000.

What more needs to be said about the early 007 flicks? Dr. No, Goldfinger and especially From Russia With Love: it don't get much better, folks; particularly on a big screen with a huge tub of popcorn in your hands. Gert Frobe and Lotte Lenya are two bad muthas you don't want to mess with.
