Rock The Bells Details Firmed Up
A few weeks back, we told you about the pretty stellar Rock The Bells Festival tour, which kicks off here in Chicago on Saturday, July 19, sans popular local acts The Cool Kids and Kid Sister. We now have some more details, like, say, venue and ticket info, that may help you make your plans. The festival, featuring a reunited Pharcyde (pictured at left), has been set for the First Midwest Bank Amphiteatre in Tinley Park with tickets going on sale via Live Nation at 5 p.m. this Friday, May 16, and via Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. this Saturday, May 17. Still no official word on ticket prices, but judging from other dates that are already listed, we're guessing they'll range from $35 to $75.
The updated line-up for the Chicago edition is: The Pharcyde, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Mos Def, Method Man & Red Man, De La Soul, Rakim, Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, Murs, Wale, Jay Electonica, B.O.B., and Kidz In The Hall, with the show being hosted by B-Real, Supernatural & Scratch, and DJ Green Lantern.
Hmm. Day 2 of Pitchfork or Rock The Bells? Animal Collective vs. Nas? The Hold Steady vs. Method & Red? That's a Wrestlemania line-up we'd pay big bucks to see.

Wow, such an unbelievable lineup at such a terrible venue, especially for this genre of music.
I may be, and am hoping that I am, mis-informed though, I haven't been to The World, or to the Tweeter Center, or to whatever you want to call it for multiple years now.
So basically what I want to know is, does it still suck?
Last year they had Rock the Bells at Northerly Island, it was a great time. I'm sure it will be fun this year too, but I have never left that venue saying, "man that was a great show."
