Schulter just wants these venues to go out of business so he can declare imminent domain and have his developer friends build condo high rises on the sites. As they say, "go with what you know".

i called my alderman, who IS gene schulter. i gave my opinion that he vote NO on this ordinance AND the children's museum. they asked for my address and name. and then i got put on hold. for a bit. and i thought, "am i in trowwble? am i going to get to talk to the man? should i get my spiel about eminent domain worked up, too?" and then the guy finally got back on the phone and asked for my phone number, and that was it. who knows.
