Smussy - Since when does any bottle of liquor serve a "wholesome purpose"? Mini bottles - eh. Seems like another instance where enforcing the laws already on the books (DUI and public consumption) would be more effective than another petty law. Do they still require bars in South Carolina to ONLY use mini bottles? That always seemed like an odd law. And not exactly environmentally-friendly.

YTB: i don't really care. drink up, johnny. but i'm just saying, they don't really serve any real wholesome purpose, you know? i don't know. like i said to start, i'm not a real "ban it" person.

Well, I agree with the ban. . .in fact, the television show "Intervention" has taught me that we should also ban needles, spoons, straws, dollar bills, and fire from the public. I know most people can handle a nice evening in, watching "America's next top model" drug free. . but very few can resist the temptation to go get in the car, buy drugs of some sort, and use the drugs with these tools while driving. I mean, despite the fact that it is illegal, there is no other way to stop it. Why weren't these banned? don't they seem perfect for -- Sure, smussy, but apart from the driving bit, who cares whether said person is a maintenance drinker or having a tipple while walking down the street? It's not really your business or mine. Plus the little bottles are fun when hand-crafting gifts.

Either enjoy Dancing With the Stars, or enjoy your alcohol-bloated corpse rotting is a piss-filled ditch somewhere. After we ban these, are we going to ban pint flasks next? Are we going to legislate that alcohol can only be sold in amounts too great to consume in a sitting? Can we not pay our politicians to waste their time on something else?

Plus, if you're someone who carries a flask and you're not afraid to pull it out at opportune moments it shows others just how serious a person you are and that you take few things lightly. Especially drinking. Full disclosure, I'm a flask owner who only has the balls to use it at the clubs. I'd love to see someone pull it off at church, though.

Flasks are only cool if you hide them in a garter Spook. Also: you can get the little bottles "on sale" for a dollar each, meaning that I can have basically $1 well-drinks when I go to the Cubby Bear on game day.

i have to say that any time i hear something is going to be banned, my dander gets up. however, i also can't really think of any good reason to have airplane bottles save for the ridiculously rare occasion of the cook who needs a little bit of liqueur to put in a recipe or something and doesn't need a whole bottle at home. otherwise ... don't they seem perfect for -- subverting paying for alcohol by taking your own on an airplane or sneaking into bars/concerts (thus preventing a bartender/flight attendant from really knowing how much you've had since they didn't serve you all of your drinks) having at the ready in your purse or pocket for drinking on the go/in the car/while you're walking perfect for the daily/maintenance drinker who can't go an hour or two without alcohol and as far as cost effective, spav, i'd think buying a fifth and filling a flask would be much more effective than buying airplane bottles. when i worked at a liquor store 13 years ago, they were around $3 a piece. i can't imagine they've gotten any cheaper. plus flasks are cool.

I use these to sneak into bars so I am not paying like $8 for my rum and diet. Much more cost effective and more discreet than a flask.
