New Honorary Street Names: Pat Sajak, La Raza Newspaper

2008_5_13.sajak.jpgWhat do Pat Sajak, original house DJs Hot Mix 5 and Ida B. Wells have in common? They're all getting honorary streets named after them, which makes them part of the first wave of honorees since 2006, when then-Alderman Madeline Haithcock proposed and honorary street be named for Black Panther Fred Hampton. If you recall, that didn't go over so well.

The transportation committee also approved several other honorees yesterday: Louise Panzke, Clem Nowakowski, Carlos Azcoitia, David Dalton, Bishop Charles E. Jones Jr., Edward Bass, Joe and Helen Soukal, La Raza Newspaper, Frank Piatek, Louis J. Nicastro, Bill Williams, Mother Mary Theresa Dudzik, Sharon Henry Ellison, Cesare Maria D'Ortenzi, John Mulligan, Mike and Marleen Fogarty, His Holiness Mar Dinkha, and Daniel Doffyn. It's about time somebody recognized the work of His Holiness Mar Dinkha.

1) Bout time Pat Sajak got a street!

2) I didn't know he had a blog!
A) Didn't know he was Conservative, either.

3) If you squish Barbie's head horizontally, she looks like Pat Sajak.

4) PAT SAJAK!

I've never realized that the person whose blog I most wanted to read was Pat Sajak's. Life is complete, and I didn't even have to try.

Yay!!! Mother Theresa Dudzik finally made it!!!

I love the honorary streets in Chicago. It's the best part of visiting. Well, maybe not the best but the most amusing. Well, not the most but...
