No Name, No Slogan

Wax Trax Records Night at Liars Club May 14, 2008We have fond memories of picking up cool Psychic TV albums at the old Wax Trax record store and then popping over to Demon Dogs for a hot dog afterwards while we lovingly pored over our purchases.

We know Neo already does a fine job of representing the industrial scene on a nightly basis, but Liar's Club is hosting a special Wax Trax Records night this evening, including Chris Connelly reading from his new book Concrete Bulletproof Invisible + Fried : My Life As A Revolting Cock. We remember him as the super-cool dude that used to sell us records, but you might know him better from his affiliation with -- among others -- Revolting Cocks, Acid Horse, or a little band named Ministry.

So rip up those fishnets, lace up your Docs, and head back to your Manic Panic days.

Hahahaha. Genesis P-Orridge was the first person to hit on me. I was 16, he was 40.

Oh wow. Pre or post-op?

Pre. He was sporting a head of green hair. I've seen Gristle footage since (they all played laptops, snore) and it was slightly disorienting.

The city of Chicago needs this night to wash out the terrible taste left by Al Jourgensen's so-called "farewell tour" by his Ministry cover band.

Their four-night-play-the-exact-lame-setlist ordeal at the House of Blues was a disgrace, leaving many, many old wax trax hounds like me wanting my money back.

I just hope they play some Fini Tribe (even though I will be at work)

I hope the Liar's Club management or DJ Sean Joyce can turn this into a regular thing, on a Friday or Saturday of course..

neo is the only place we WaxTrax! fans have left and it'd be nice to go somewhere different now and then.

If you're a fan- I play WT-era songs and more on my podcast:

Didn't Herb used to work at Wax Trax? If not, he sure was there a lot.
