They're listening this week!" 1st runner up "I am willing to wager 50% of the city council could not find Iran on a map" and the winner is " if Congress is going to waste time investigating professional sports (both baseball and football now), why shouldn't City Council work on foreign policy, or polar exploration, or deep sea fishing, or a moonbase while they are at it."!

Have they completely run out of Chicago-related issues to care about? Why would they do this? Why am I trying to find reason in the Chicago City Council?

It's the new American way, governments getting into things they have no business doing. If Congress is going to waste time investigating professional sports (both baseball and football now), why shouldn't City Council work on foreign policy, or polar exploration, or deep sea fishing, or a moonbase while they are at it. Perhaps they should vote to ban birds from pooping on cars in Chicago, that would certainly be popular.

I am willing to wager 50% of the city council could not find Iran on a map. This body of elected officals is a daley rubber stamp joke. Maybe they can start worrying about the condition of the city streets and the poor performance of the city schools now.

Those alderman include many mental midgets who could never hold a decent job in the private sector. You are talking about some mediocre people. Adding insult to injury, they are boot-lickers. And panderers. Regardless of what you think about U.S. Foreign Policy, the clowns in City Council should work on city issues. Oh, that's right. They will just rubber stamp whatever the Mayor's office shoves in front of them. Then they'll collect their fat salaries and their contributions from developers.

Foie Gras ban lifted...Promoter's Ordinance tabled...ridiculous city declaration on our country's military operations tabled due to it's uselessness... What's happening here? Did the earthquake in China shake us into a bizarro parallel world where the "City That Works" starts working? Quick, everyone call your aldermen!! They're listening this week!
