I think anyone who is unsure of Jerry Springer's background, really needs to take a listen to a wonderful biography done of him on This American Life. It was a real eye opener. I have much more respect for him than I ever thought I could have for a person who does what he does.

I don't see anything unethical about what he does. He exploits people who sign up to be exploited. After the Borat movie came out, Sacha Baron Cohen said he can't do the character anymore because people are all familiar with who Borat really is. Similarly, it's not like anyone signing on to be on Jerry Springer doesn't know what it's all about.

I don't care if his speech made the Gettysburg Address look like gibberish in comparison. Northwestern Law School dropped down a notch by having this guy speak. What are they, a bunch of simple-minded celebrity worshipers? My condolences go to those students who opposed the choice.
