A Chicago man was arrested over the weekend in Merrillville, Indiana for attempting to kill his wife on their honeymoon.
Jose Cuevas Jr., 37, is accused of holding Marbelin Jeronimo's head underwater in a hot tub in their room and biting flesh off her arm while they were staying Friday at a Days Inn in the town south of Gary. ...Jeronimo said he became enraged at her when she refused to his demand for a sex act. She said after he let her head up out of the water he said he would kill her and said, "all you want is child support."
Police reported that he beat her and threw her around the room while she pleaded for her life. She said she fell into the hallway during the beating and a woman came to her aid.
Cuevas was charged with domestic battery on Friday, but charges were upgraded yesterday to include attempted murder, aggravated battery, criminal deviate conduct and battery. unfortunately, i sense a reconciliation in the works.

My guess is people who are not as well off as most commenters here honeymoon in Merrilville. Or perhaps they were on there way to Florida for their honeymoon. Frankly who knows. But why even bring that up? There are much more important things to worry about in this story.

For the record, Jose's brother Jesus Cuevas was always the success story of the family.
Unlike Jose who honeymooned at the Days In in Merrillville, smoked crack with his bride, but still was refused a sex act,
Jesus honeymooned at the Sybaris, snorted five dime bags of coke and got the sex act!
There's no reason to knock what someone can afford as a wedding or a honeymoon, etc. We couldn't afford a honeymoon, and not everyone can afford Fiji.
What's important is the sentiment and commitment to love and respect each other that people promise during marriage, which in a very sad case, this guy obviously did not honor that promise.
