We're still two weeks away from finding out whether or not Stephanie Izard will be crowned the winner of Top Chef Chicago but her first post-show cooking appearance is already sold-out.
Izard will be going plate-to-plate in a competition with Nick LaCasse, chef at the Drawing Room at Le Passage and a former sous chef for Shawn McClain. The event on June 15 will feature Izard and LaCasse preparing a four-course meal, offering their interpretations of assigned courses and having diners rate them. Foie gras will be featured at the dinner. We spoke with reps for the Drawing Room on Saturday, who told us that interest in the event is so heavy that they're considering a post-event VIP reception with Izard, or possibly booking a second dinner to accommodate demand.
We'll keep you posted of any updates.

Friday Afternoon Diversion

Hmmm...waiting on updates to see if an event is added. I would love to see this match up, and taste the ensuing spoils of the battle royale!
Are you going, Chuck?
I tried to RSVP Friday, but they were already sold out before then.
Wow...Stephanie's very popular, very popular indeed.
Chuck, if somehow you figure out that there's additional events planned, I wanna go with you!
This event coincides with the Food & Wine Classic at Aspen, taking place that same weekend. Since the Top Chef has a showcase at the Classic, this might mean she doesn't claim the title, which would be a bummer. Rooting for her all the way!
Just received notice from the folks behind that June 15 plate-to-plate competition between Stephanie Izard and Nick LaCasse at the Drawing Room at Le Passage.
A second event — a VIP cocktail reception with the guest of honor — has been added for 9 p.m. that evening. The $40 per-person admission will include two complimentary seasonal cocktails created by Izard for the event. Furthermore, those who miss out on the dinner or reception can sample the winning dishes created by Izard and LaCasse for one week following the event.
RSVP by calling (773) 276-7582.
Even though the dinner is sold out, I'm sure that both the Drawing Room/ Le Passage and Stephanie will be well worth the $40 for a fun night and meet and greet.
Um, yeah, theman, we already let our readers know about the cocktail reception last week.
We also let them know that the plate-to-plate event was sold out. Hence the headline.
