Cedric Benson Arrested Again

cedric.jpgIt's been just over a month since Bears running back Cedric Benson was arrested for boating while intoxicated, and now Benson's in trouble with Austin, Texas law enforcement once again -- he was arrested last night and charged with drunk driving and was released from the Travis County jail this morning. Police pulled Benson over after he allegedly ran a red light, and based on the results of a field sobriety test cops hauled him off to the hoosegow, where he supposedly declined to take a Breathalyzer and blood test.

Bears general manager Jerry Angelo had some ominous words that suggest Benson's position with the team is in serious jeopardy:

"There was alcohol involved, that's all we know... We are certainly going to take this seriously. Disappointment is too often-used word when talking about Cedric. The No. 1 lesson of every player is protect your job."

he seems to look genuinely happy that his career is over for some reason.

addition by subtraction for the bears

Well, Urlacher could probably run the ball too.

Mr. Carlson--

You say that Mr. Benson "denied taking a Breathalyzer and blood test."

He may have declined or refused to take such a test, but I doubt that he denied taking one.

I like this site, but it is often poorly edited, if at all.

Alas, TheEnginist, on the weekends I'm given the full ability to make my own embarrassing typos, go off to see Iron Man with my kids, and leave it up all afternoon...

He also had a DUI that while ago, well before the boating incident.

Get. Rid. Of. Him.

Im sure its just the bad police picking on him.

Maybe he should take the Chewbacca Defense....
