Bulls Set To Pick Del Negro To Coach

2008_6_9.delnegro.jpgThe Chicago Bulls have offered the head coach position to Vinny Del Negro, and he's going to accept, according to the Trib. Del Negro is currently the Phoenix Suns' assistant GM.

Del Negro has never coached, but he played in the NBA for 12 years, was a radio broadcaster for the Spurs and then for the Suns, and moved to his front-office gig in 2006. The Bulls and Del Negro are expected to make a formal annoucement sometime this week. [Trib, Daily Herald, old picture of Del Negro via the NBA]

Wow, way to really pick a nobody. Glad the Bulls passed on all the actual coaches.

Maybe all the actual coaches passed on the Bulls?

Apparently Detlef Schrempf was unavailable

Tower18: If they had picked a nobody, then you would be coaching the Bulls.

And another mediocre white guard joins the ranks.

Slaphappy: Well, since Del Negro and I have exactly the same amount of coaching experience, I think you're probably more right than you think.

This is going to drive Father Pfleger and Reverand Wright nuts!
