Get Nekkid & Ride This Saturday Night

If you have a hankering to hang out — quite literally — with a few hundred naked like-minded progressives this weekend (and who doesn't) mark your calendar for tomorrow night.

The 5th annual World Naked Bike Ride starts gathering at 6pm at Union Park on Saturday night, and the ride pedals forward at 9pm. The WNBR organizes every year to celebrate "the end of the oil era" (which seems a little premature to us, but whatever), as well as promoting positive body image, which is always never a bad idea. Of course, if you don't want to ride bare-assed, you don't have to - WNBR organizers call this a "bare-as-you-dare" ride, with body paints or some sort of pastie covering many riders' naughty bits.

If you just want to get an eyeful, the planned viewing point is at Halsted & Belmont this year, and event planners estimate that the arrival time will be around 10:15 p.m., so put your voyeur hats on and get those cameras ready. Tomorrow night's weather looks pretty precipitation-free so far, so maybe we should break out the cheetah thong and lube up the ol' Schwinn.
