What a surprise, still no North Ave. tracker. Guess you can't really track a bus that only seems to run twice a week.
No North, Division, Chicago, or Grand bus tracking. Looks like they missed out on a large & area.
I've been using the bus tracker pretty regularly on the 9 and X9 buses and have been pretty pleased with it. Usually it's accurate within a minute once the bus is less than two miles away, which I suppose is good given the unknown variables (traffic, passenger loading, etc).
The mobile Web site is pretty hard to navigate through with a regular cell phone, but if you set up bookmarks in your mobile browser for your favorite intersections, it's much faster. Otherwise you have to scroll through each stop on the route, in alpha order, to find your cross street (with the Ashland buses, this means selecting one intersection from hundreds [?] of potential stops).
Can't wait to see it on the 70 and 66 buses.
I use it for the 60 bus. It started off great but has been a little off now & then lately... most annoying when it says there is a bus 20 mins away and then I see one pass as I'm walking to the stop! In general though this is a great move for the CTA and I hope they continue to enhance it.
I use it on an iphone & have the pages for my most common stops bookmarked.
I've used it on the 9 and 50: it's pretty handy. Can't wait for the 22, though.
Yeah, the last ones to be tracked will most likely be the 22, the 36, and the 8, since those routes only run in the direction opposite of that which you need to go.
cta tattler reminds us that the program is being rolled out by garage, so the 22 and 36 will have to wait until the north park garage is equipped.
