THe only buffalo burger I have had was gamey. But after this post I might give it another try.

Honestly, I think there was a little gaminess, but I think that may have been because I didn't dress mine at all -- no cheese. I also used a grill pan, though that never changed the taste of food for me before. But, I will eat practically anything, and I loved my burgers -- this is just a reminder for me to get some more.

Whole Foods carries ground buffalo along with bison steaks - can't really tell the difference between bison and beef when cooking although there is a slight difference in the taste...the price, however, is a huge difference: $19.99 per pound for bison steaks.

Game burgers and sausage are also available at Paulina Meat Market, if I recall correctly. I love buffalo - but if you can find ostrich burgers, give 'em a shot. They're excellent.

I believe you can usually get fresh ground buffalo at Whole Foods if you don't want to go the frozen route.

i once confused buffalo burgers with bubba burgers...not the same. damn. that burger makes my 7-11-bought sandwich look like crap.

Holy Jesus, that picture is wonderful. What's funny is I just had a box of those buffalo burgers (from TJ's), and they were very good!
