If you were holding off on picking up tickets to this year's Lollapalooza until you knew for sure when your favorite bands were playing, the day-by-day schedule just went up this morning. We still kind of wish Radiohead was closing out Sunday instead of playing Friday, forcing us to sprint a mile or so in 15-minutes so we can see The Raconteurs too. And I guess we'll be missing Wilco at Lolla for the second time, since Rage Against The machine is a must-see in our book Saturday night. Also, the head-to-head match between Kanye West and Nine Inch Nails on Sunday night is going to be super interesting. Wonder how that will play out?
What are your thoughts?

I have a three day pass. Does anyone know if they are going to make me wear one wristband all weekend long?
I hate those things....
Girl Talk vs. Gnarls Barkley? That's just unfair.
Rage rather than Wilco???? How dare you!
Also, for anyone who's unfamiliar with The National, they are not to be missed live and are playing Sunday night. Give their latest album "Boxer" a listen for a taste. One of the best bands out there right now.
you have to wear the wristband all weekend. it sort of sucks, espcially when it's really goddamn hot out and you're all sweaty. Lolla really needs to rethink the scheduling of this event. there has never been a time when it wasn't ungodly hot in august in Chicago, it's just how things are. it's time to move it to late may/early june or september. or even mid july. but August is by far the worst weather month year in and year out, in terms of the heat. it's like holding an outdoor hockey game in January...no one would ever even think of that.
I don't know that moving the dates would be all that effective. Actually, in my experience it's usually been hotter at Pitchfork than at Lolla.
I love wilco, but Ive got to see Rage at least once in my life.
Ralph - Saw them open for R.E.M. last week. Totally agree. Have loved them on record for a while and finally got to see them live. Can't miss.
Yeah Marcus, and had you gone to The Burlington later that night like I told you too you could have seen the boys in The National DJ. Did I ever tell you about the time I booked them at The Pontiac. Yeah, I'm cool.
And RalphWiggum, I love both Rage and Wilco, but I've seen Wilco more recently so they lose out. I mean, I haven't seen Rage since the FIRST time they played Lolla. Yipes!
Rage rather than Wilco???? Absolutely!
Don't you think it'll be possible to see both NIN and Kanye? Based on his track record, Kanye will most likely go on 3 hours late again, no?
Mike,
I hear you about the weather. I had tickets once and sold them on Craigslist..I just didn't feel like being in that heat mixed with all those people crunched up like sardines.
Today would be an AWESOME day for Lollapalooza!!!!
The wristbands aren't that bad. It is plastic so you can shower with it on so it isn't really a big deal.
Tankboy - rub it in, sir. rub it in.
Forget about Kanye. I just came back from Bonnaroo, and he is a definite MISS.
NIN will be more interesting.
Scheduling a Chicago band like Wilco up against Rage is just a jack-ass move. I agree totally about moving this festival earlier or later in the year. I think this line-up is also weak this year.
NIN or Kanye. No-brainer.
