It's easy to explain the aldercreatures' real duty.

Just look at everything that have done since Richard M. Daley took office.

Then imagine the exact opposite of that and you have your answer.

just because the fda deems something safe, doesn't make it so

also, what is the alderman's real duty? what is sleazy about this? seems to me, that if the federal and state governments do nothing about a potentially harmsful issue, local government can and should.

These bottles are SAFE. They have been evaluated by the FDA. The amount of BPA released is so low as to be irrelevant.

This is another example of aldermen getting involved with anything other than their REAL duty.

Burke's sleazy grandstanding is nothing new. As for Flores, either he has been snookered by an influential donor or he is doing some grandstanding himself.

Here is something your readers, as well as the constituents of Flores and Burke, may not realize. BPA is in cosmetic dental fillings. The only way to avoid BPA in one’s mouth for 24 hours a day is to have all the composite fillings replaced by silver fillings. However, silver fillings release mercury, and many people have recently had them replaced with composite fillings.

People should not become too upset over the problem because the FDA is studying both amalgam fillings and BPA. In a year, it could be illegal for dentists to fill teeth in the US. Don’t you find that interesting?
