I have a certain fondness for the traditional name. (and a certain aversion to weak corporate naming like "US Cellular Field" or shameful names line "Enron".) I'm sure if the folks at William Wrigley Jr. mislead their shareholders and ran away with the money, the venerable north side ball park wouldn't have as traditional a name...wait-what?

Wow, that's really nice of Jim Beam to write a big enough check to the Tribune Corp. to buy the naming rights in perpetuity and name the stadium after a different company! Gosh! I grew up close enough to Wrigley to hear the cheers (but not so close that my home got whizzed on by drunk suburbanites - thanks guys!), so I have a certain fondness for the traditional name. (and a certain aversion to weak corporate naming like "US Cellular Field" or shameful names line "Enron".) While it's nice that Jim Beam is giving some "moral" support and publicity, it just seems to bring up the fact that they aren't really putting any money where their mouth is. (On a tangent - listen to the tapes of Sam Zell berating employees in meetings. It sounds to me like a scared man who got himself way, way in over his head in a business he really doesn't understand. Not good.)

Ok, this is a bad one. You have Bourbon spelled several different ways, 'been' is wrong- it should be 'be', and 'guess that the problem' should be 'that' with an 's' on the end! And finally, do you really think it acceptable for a sox fan to be taking digs at cub fans ability to rally around the name of Wrigley Field??

My guess is that 'light' beer won't be losing a foothold there (or sadly any U.S. sports haven) in our lifetime.
