Local filmmaker Dean Peterson discovered this old photograph tucked into a book at a second-hand store in Wicker Park.
I can’t really figure out what’s going on in the picture, to the best of my abilities it seems like somebody is falling while water skiing.I love it, it’s such an awesome, abstract photo but somebody evidently didn’t think enough of it to do anything with it other than mark their place in a book they didn’t even want to keep.
Now it’s mine.

Nice, via_chicago...I looked at the image again after reading your comment and TOTALLY see the desert landscape.
I also see the desert landscape aspect of it, but I don't see how it could be water skiing. Would there be some sort of wake from the boat? Also, that person is clearly not wearing a water ski, unless the ski fell off or some sort of 1-ski thing was attempted.
Clearly I'm thinking way too much about this.
looks like someone falling off a jet ski to me. i can see what appears to be some sort of handlebar.
I don't know... I've been staring at this thing for a while. I'm pretty confident, and can almost confirm that this is a picture.
It's obviously a shark attack in the midst of a land speed record attempt for snow saucers at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
