So how much time would he have gotten if he stole the pup and just did normal Pom stuff with it, like making it wear hats and frog costumes & such? And how did they even find out that he got the dog stoned? Something's very, very wrong with this story - I suspect a conspiracy, possibly at the highest levels.

Low on the ladder rung, as well, are PET STORES that sell puppies and kittens because they usually all come from PUPPY MILLS where abuse and neglect run rampant. If you're hell bent on getting a puppy, at least go to a reputable breeder who does this as a hobby and raises the puppies in their homes as part of the family...not in cages where they are stacked one on top of the other. If you're buying from a pet store you're over paying for a dog that is probably full of problems and congenital defects because the mills don't care about breeding. They just care about the money. And if the pet store says they got the puppy from a breeder, I call bullshit. Any reputable breeder is not going to sell one of their dogs to a pet store. That poor little puppy....but I have no sympathy for the Naperville pet store.
