Suppelsa Joining WGN As Expected

2008_7_8.iloveyoumarksuppelsa.jpgOur biggest local news crush Mark Suppelsa will be back on the air starting in a few weeks. The plan from June has indeed come to fruition: Suppelsa will anchor the 9pm news on WGN alongside Allison Payne. Come September, station veteran Steve Sanders will move from the 9 o'clock spot to a newly-formed 11:30am–1pm newscast, and Suppelsa and Payne will anchor a new 5:30pm cast. That brings WGN's local news programming to a grand total to 37 hours per week.

Suppelsa will also continue his news duties on Eric and Kathy's WTMX morning earbortion. [Trib, B&C, S-T]

I think he'll fit in well.

37 hours of WGN news a week seems excessive, but I'd rather watch that than most CW programming...but gotta admit that Gossip Girl is highly underrated.

how does 37 hours of news compare to other networks? and not that i care, but between a morning radio stint and 9 pm news, when is this guy gonna sleep?

OUR?! OUR?! Speak for yourself Lyons! I'll always have a soft spot for the overly made-up ladies Anna Davlantes, Jackie Bange, and -- God save me -- even Nancy Pender.

What about Robert Jordan? I'd rather have RJ over Mark Suppelsa anyday.

that came out wrong- i mean that in a delivering the news kind of way... er delete

Tank: Paula Faris. Yum.

Oh! I don't usually watch NBC news, but maybe I should.
