Chicagoist: Census and Censusability

I see the pop. in Rockford has grown a couple of 1000. We used to be 2nd largest. Most still live here, just in adjecent "safer" burb type towns. The growth is mostly due to Rockford inheriting a lot of the Cabrini Green and other Chicago housing transferees when they shut those hellholes down. Now it's like the wild wild west here...shoot em ups every night...gang warfare everywhere. Batman...we need you!

It will be interesting (that is, probably depressing) in the next full census to see how well the city has held onto young professionals starting families. I think that is a key indicator of a city's health.

oh ... i thought you wanted the five after chicago. and i really didn't look. i went right to comments without realizing the numbers were right in the post. i thought it was going to be linked! oh, joliet, you sneaky bastard! as my friend's dad says, "there's nothing jolly about joliet!"
