Blergh, it's hot. Temps today should reach around 90 degrees, and tomorrow climb closer to 95. Mercifully, things will cool off at least a little Saturday and Sunday. Giant bag of Fla-vo-ice, here we come. [NWS]

p.s I still have not dragged out the air conditioner yet

Well, now that it's July and the temps are in the 90's, that's usually the signal that
all apparel stores will have nothing but sweaters, corduroys and down jackets.

The only summer things left are going to be smushed up on the sale rack and either a size 0 or size 20.

spook: i've only put one in the bedroom. otherwise i can't f'in sleep.

anyone want to help me with my two other A/C units?

i had A/C for 6 months in the 11 years i've lived in chicago. it's all about a well-placed fan. or two or three.

i just worry about my 13.5 year old cat. otherwise, i promised myself a long time ago i'd never complain about the heat. winter is too brutal for that.

I remember a few days last summer where overnight lows were in the mid-80s. Fans aren't going to do shit for you in that weather.

Unfortunately, I've had to use my A/C more than I'd like (I'm a windows person myself, within reason) because I have a cast on my leg and any sweating is extremely uncomfortable.

Smussy we agree on something! Any my 135 pound mastiff hates the summer. But so freak'n what! Actually I enjoy seeing her suffer! How do you think I feel when I come home at its 80 degrees below and dark out at 6:00pm! Mean while she is all smiles and full of rompity romp romp! Meanwhile I'm freeezing my A$S off walking her after coming home in the cold. She on the other hand is completely oblivious

Hey Tower. I bet you wished you had road a VESAP Mr. Motor Cycle Man! The Vespa slogan “Too cool to wipe out" and “It’s easier to look cool going 40 mph than 80!"

Nobody ever wants to admit to enjoying air conditioning.

I, on the other hand, could not live without it. I hate the hot weather. Hate, hate, hate it.

It is way easier to get warm when it's cold than the other way around, especially if you don't have air conditioning.

And it's not really so much the heat, it's just the humidity. There is no way in hell to sleep comfortably at night when it's hot and humid without AC. It's also a blessing for those who suffer from allergies.

It's a different story if you're out in the country or by some large body of water and maybe you can get a cool breeze; and it's quiet...but when you're in a hot, noisy city, AC is a must...especially at night.

excuse me Ingrid,( freak-0) but I'm leaving early today.

I will reach home in the day light and sit on my porch and drink a cold beer! can you hear me? ahhhhhh

Instead of having to leave work and brave the bitter inhospitable the arctic dark tundra and then after "walking" my pup retreat into the house- that I am held hostage basically for the winter -before I die do to frost bite.

Spook, I like the occasional balmy eve with cool drink in hand... but the days when it's in the 90's and the humidity is unbearable...I just can't stand it. yuck. yuck. yuck.

(and I don't care for beer so I'm heading over to Zack's for those special pina coladas!!!!)

Hmmm. Drenched, freezing, wearing white and pissed as hell is a really good look for me.

Haha Spook, how'd you guess?! Wasn't my fault though, my ankle would be just as broken on a scooter as it was on my motorcycle. Only so much you can do when a car t-bones you.
