It will be interesting/ironic to see Flava Flav do "She Watch Channel Zero".

I'm looking forward to it based on the name factor of PE alone, but I'm not making any huge expectations. Based on the limited Youtube clips I've seen, it looks like their current live show can be either hit or miss.

So I just reviewed the Bubble and Scrape reissue, and at first I was very "meh" about the whole thing, but after listening to it a few times through, I understand how great a record it is and how it really ranks up there with being one of the best lo-fi albums around. It still sounds really great and fresh 15 years later, which is hard to do. I'm actually looking forward to the show now! Let's hope it translates well live. And who can't get excited about Public Enemy!? Yay!

Have to say I was underwhelmed when I found out the third act was Sebadoh. Bought my ticket on the strength of P.E. alone and was pleasantly surprised by Mission of Burma. Sebadoh...meh...

Sure that was all in their prime though. Time has not treated them well in my opinion. Trust me if you were at this show you would have called it a bad show. It was terrible.

hotwater30, again, I think it's choice is fitting in that it did sort of serve as a separation point between the old indie and the new.

And Thunderbelly, I've never seen a bad Public Enemy show. Highlight? Easily the double-bill with Sonic Youth that ended in a riot ... but they even pulled off playing Poplar Creek with Sisters of Mercy and remained compelling, which was no easy task.

I must say I was really underwhelmed by Public Enemy at last year's Vegoose festival. One of the worst live performances I have ever seen. That being said they were not performing Nation of Millions, so I remain cautiously optimistic that they won't disappoint once again.

Am I alone in thinking "Bubble and Scrape" is a wierd choice for ATP/Don't Look Back? Sebadoh III maybe, but I would never consider "Bubble and Scrape" any sort of landmark record.
