Sadly, nobody cares about this. I don't expect anybody to do anything about this problem. I'm surprised there was any kind of 'study' in the first place. This culture thinks prison rape is acceptable fodder for stand-up comedians. Jail should be hard and difficult, but not life-threatening. I'm sure Stroger wants to rectify the problem by...you guessed it, raising taxes.

i know someone who opted for 6 months at stateville rather than 3 months at cook county. either place has got to be terrible but cook county's got to be hell
