Sheffield Garden Walk This Weekend

OK, so this is admittedly nowhere near Sheffield but it shore is purty. Photo by kudzuplanet

If Pitchfork isn't really your thing, maybe you should head over to the Sheffield Garden Walk for something a bit more sedate. Now in its 40th year, the event takes place today and tomorrow from noon until dusk. It's grown from a little stroll through a handful of neighborhood gardens to a self-tour of over 100 yards that are better than yours, as well as a full on street festival at Webster and Sheffield at night. Sure, the entertainment options aren't as exciting as Pitchfork, featuring predictable choices like Freddy Jones Band and Cowboy Mouth, but stuff enough Robinson's Ribs and Blue Moon into yourself and anybody will start to sound good.

Sheffield Garden Walk & Festival, Webster and Sheffield, July 19-20, 2008, 12:00 - 9:30 p.m. Admission: $6 donation, $10 after 4 p.m.
